The thing is...

you have to be VERY careful what you say to Robert Esch. For example, yours truly threw in an off-hand comment that wouldn't it be neat to have a picture from above of the entire congregation as it circled St. Paul's in the recessional that concluded our 150th celebration.

You see, the cross and torches led the way, followed by an anniversary banner and Pastor GeRue carrying the lectionary, then Pastor Sievers (our preacher this a.m.) and myself, and behind us came the entire congregation. We filed of the Church and turned north and went all the way around the building. The people were still coming out the front doors by the time we completed our circle, and all the while the great bell in St. Paul's tower was swinging and calling "the young and old to rest, but above all the soul distressed, longing for rest everlasting." Then when all had exited and now encircled the building, we joined in singing together "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!" And as we held our position surrounding our beloved church building, Bob arranged for a buddy of his to fly overhead and take photographs and videos FROM HIS AIRPLANE. Many more good things to come, but here's just a teasing taste:

My sister, Millie Ernst, sent me your blog site so we could see the pictures and report of your anniversary weekend. I wish we could have been there to join in the celebration(s)! Glory Be to God! Bitsie Bollen (St. John's, West Bend, Wisconsin)
