I Think Bill and Cheryl Did a BAD Thing...

...by taking us to Trader Joe's! Wow. We've been enjoying the food we brought home yesterday. GREAT STUFF! Pity it is so far away. Or maybe, just maybe, a good thing...

They have a good wine selection, such as the Charles Shaw Wines.

I make a killer salad with their stuff, using salad greens (whatever kind), those steamed green lentils in the deli section, the Greek sheep feta cheese also there, and a raspberry walnut gorgonzola dressing.

It rocks.

Their chocolate covered espresso beans got me through a good many final papers. Perhaps that's what made my paper on repentance so rousing...? Fortunately we have trader joe's in TN...else I'd be utterly lost.

Considering the fantastic food that you can make for a reasonable price, Trader Joes is very close at an hour or so away. If I still lived in Hamel, I'd do almost all my grocery shopping there.

Our closest TJ's is in Orland Park, about an hour northwest. We go about once every other month and "stock up". It's like Christmas all over again! We love their whole wheat pasta, not to mention their white cheese puffs. Their frozen veggies are quite good too.

Is the TJ's new there? If so, the number of transplanted southern Californians must've reached critical mass. -Ken

Yup, it's a California transplant. I was introduced to TJs 16 years ago when I moved to southern California, and I knew we could survive. Great cheese selection.

Enjoy!

And if you want your mind well and truly blown, visit a Whole Foods market sometime.
