Old Lutheran Quote of the Day

This obedience of Christ by which He fulfilled the Law for us is not something infirm or mutilated or imperfect, to be patched on our "doing" so that we might have a full and complete righteousness before God consisting in part of the obedience of Christ and in part of our own. This is an insult to the merit of Christ as if it were insufficient for our righteousness before God. -- Blessed Martin Chemnitz, *Justification* p. 163
