Gerhard on Mercy

When we are surrounded by the floods and winds of adversity in the sea of this world, let us retreat to the most tranquil and serene harbor of divine mercy, which never experiences storm. When we flee from our enemies and are terrified, let us take refuge in the bosom of divine grace, which fosters and embraces us "as a mother her sons" (Is. 66:13) - On the Nature of God and the Trinity, p. 214
