New Lutheran Quote of the Day

For as Jesus took His place in solidarity with the whole sinful race by receiving a baptism designated for sinners, so those who after the first Easter were baptized in the name of this Servant-Messiah are thereby received into solidarity with Him. Theirs is a personal participation in that judgment of God upon sinners which was accepted by Jesus, and at the same time a participation in the redeeming value of His innocent death and the power of His triumphant resurrection. -- Richard Jungkuntz, *The Gospel of Baptism* p. 47
