There is Something About...

...gathering together when it is dark and bitter cold outside to light candles, sing psalms and hymns to God, hear His Word, and ask His mercies that brings a warmth no arctic chill can ever overcome. It may be only 16 outside and the north wind wildly howling, but in the Church tonight we were basking in the warmth of divine love - a light and a warmth that no cold, no darkness can ever overcome. And for that, all glory to Him who is, "pure gleam of God's unending glory, O Jesus, blest anointed one." LSB 891.

Yes there is, Pastor Weedon. I have always loved the light of candles on a cold, dark evening and in connection with the prayers of the Church they take on an even deeper reflection of the Light that never fades.

May your Advent observances be richly blessed by the King who comes to save us!
