Merry Christmas! Day Ten

Well, as you can see, we anticipated the Epiphany feast, but the Church will remain decorated till the Octave of our Epiphany celebration, so we'll still be Christmassy for the Feast of Our Lord's Baptism next Sunday - a day which will bring us the joy of two adult Baptisms. What a blessing to recall how the theme of Baptism permeates these days: from John the Baptist in Advent, to the prayers and readings for Christmas day, from the ingathering of the Gentiles at Epiphany to the celebration of our Lord's own Baptism, where He "sinless, sanctifies the wave, mankind from sin and death to save."
