New Lutheran Quote of the Day

The presence of the body and blood of Christ in the Sacrament of the Altar is the place where the divisions of Christendom can alone be finally healed. -- Dr. Norman Nagel, CTM 1968, p. 227.

If we really believe it is the
Lord's Supper and not the Lutheran
Supper, then all those who believe
in the REAL PRESENCE of Christ's
body and blood and his forgiveness of
our sins will be welcome at our altar.

The late, great Martin Luther said:
"That person is truly worthy and
well prepared who has faith in these
words; 'Given and shed for you for
the forgiveness of sins."

Our blessed Reformer understood that
Eucharist was not an obstacle course
to gain entry into, but a blessed
meal to receive His body and blood
to forgive our sins. Nagel is right
on this one.
