I heard him on tape and enjoyed it immensely. The first encounter with him, though, was via the marvelous festschrift for Richard Caemerer, *The Lively Function of the Gospel.* I think I first read it when I was 16 or so - a friend had recommended the book - but didn't quite understand it (and that was an understatement). I turned back to it when I was in my late teens and I think it opened my eyes to see glories I had never seen before. <BR/><BR/>Now, IF you are the slime-bucket who borrowed my copy of *The Lively Function* and never returned it, just send it back and all will be forgiven. : )William Weedonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01383850332591975790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291232.post-1152727277967599872006-07-12T13:01:00.000-05:002006-07-12T13:01:00.000-05:00Same here.Same here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291232.post-1152715130103403102006-07-12T09:38:00.000-05:002006-07-12T09:38:00.000-05:00At first glimpse I thought Father Fenton passed on...At first glimpse I thought Father Fenton passed on as your first sentence read, "Fr. It was the best thing in a book of very fine essays.William Weedonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01383850332591975790noreply@blogger.com
