A service that is held in daylight on Saturday is probably just that -- a Saturday service. Why?

No brainer - confessional pastors and laity aren't there! More often than not they go to church rather than stay and vote, and the more confessional pastors feel a need to get back to their congregatons, thinking that pastoring has precedence over conventioning.

Leaves the field open much wider for the less confessional objectives to be reached when those who vote hve already been culled.

Matt H.BalaamsAss51https://www.blogger.com/profile/04427791905802091592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291232.post-84686558443835085062010-06-29T05:44:54.062-05:002010-06-29T05:44:54.062-05:00My understanding is that it is an anticipatory mas...My understanding is that it is an anticipatory mass for the following Lord's Day. Weedon:

You write: "The Synod will offer the Divine Service on Saturday evening to open the convention."

Is that meant to be the Divine Service for that Sunday-anticipated, or is it a completely different Mass? If the former, I wonder why it would be planned on Saturday, instead of the Lord's Day, and if the latter, that logically would mean that everyone should still be encouraged to go to Mass the next day, instead of holding convention business. Help me understand the thinking involved with all this.Dcn Latif Haki Gaba SSPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13032212390625343868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291232.post-41479912831673150932010-06-28T18:51:44.770-05:002010-06-28T18:51:44.770-05:00Amen!
