It has been a while since I was in attendance there and this was a welcome treat.<br /><br />Might I suggest that what the lectionary suggests for scriptural proclamation is sometimes missed by both the preacher and the congregation. Attempts at being "inviting", funny, cute, or telling your personal life story detract from the Word and the liturgy, I my humble opinion. We have been blessed in our congregation where Pr. Zimmerman opens for us the Holy Word every Sunday.
