All Saints

What great joy today! I love All Saints. One of my favorite feasts of the whole year. I especially love that final hymn: "Ye Watchers and Ye Holy Ones."

After the morning services and Bible Class, I took the Sacrament to a couple shutins (von Schenk's *The Presence* provided the devotion), came home and readied the bulletins for the weeks I'll be on vacation (go Parallels!) and then we had the Catechism service. Tonight we dealt with our Lord's Appearing for the final judgment. Some great discussion as usual and excellent comments from the participants.

Lutheran Service Builder, by the way, rocks on the Divine Services and falls to pieces on the Daily Prayer Services. It's like half-finished there. Wonder what gives with that? Hopefully as they continue improving it, we'll get some decent help with those services. The Psalms will print, but are not marked for chanting (even when that option is selected) and the Gloria Patri is nowhere to be seen. Adding the Gloria Patri in at the end of the Psalm is no help. It just says "Gloria Patri" and gives you an option of selecting it from another service. Hello? We want it sung to the Psalm tone we just used. Grr. And if you select the seasonal option for the opening versicles, you end up with squat. Nothing shows up at all. Sigh. Well, at least it is great for the Eucharist and for Prayer and Preaching. Hopefully the offices will get up to snuff before too long.
