  1. Why is Lutheran architecture so different than Eastern Orthodox architecture? I assume that's your church. What's the history of Lutheran church architecture?

  2. It's really not, though. What we represent by the open arch, the Orthodox represent by the iconostasis: heaven is now open to us and made one with us by the incarnation and paschal mystery of the Lamb of God.

The typical Lutheran church has a narthex or entry way; the nave where the people gather; the sanctuary from which the sacrament is served and from which the Word is proclaimed.

  3. david, that link doesn't work.
Pastor William, don't you find that church intimidating? Like being responsible for it and everything?

  5. Play in the snow? Chance would be a fine thing. I blame Bush!

I know that you have an election coming and that some of you have no fondness for the man but I am confident you underestimate the very low esteem in which he is held elsewhere.

Global warming? A European plot to destabalise our economy.

There, that's got that off my chest!

    Bill, you are sooo fussy.

Catherine says that Uncle Bill looks just the same way as when he was dancing with Lauren at her wedding.

  8. Snow? That must be something that exists in some fantasyland, or an alternate universe perhaps.

It's a gorgeous 70 degrees here, and sunny.
