    Hmmm...

Seems to me that someone should call for... or even sue or sub poena all of the Synod's financial records and KFUO's records and have a thorough, independent financial audit.

Even putting the best construction on it, appears to be the shoddiest book keeping I have seen in some time... someone should be fired for keeping books that sloppy.

At worse, it is financial malfeasance and possibly something worthy of a legal indictment for criminal wrongdoing.

    Incredible!

If these figures and conclusions are correct, the Priestman may have to update his cowpie gambit post... can't wait to see how... I of course am a FWUP, so the best I can come up with is that this might be like choosing the droppings coming from a bovine infected with mad-cow disease

I don’t believe this report is legitimate. For one thing, it comes so close to April 1st that it really can’t be considered trustworthy. It could have very well have been sent out on April 1st as a practical joke. Secondly, the website that posts it is anonymous and there is no way to verify the information. So, all the interest in the picking this report apart is a big waste of time.

  7. I understand though. NONE of us want to believe that that report is genuine, but unfortunately I'm afraid it appears it is. It just raises a whole HOST of further questions, which even a numerical imbecile like me cannot ignore. What on earth gives?

  8. Dan, you took the words right out of my fingers!

Hey, I don't want to believe it's true either, anonymous, but if it is, let's clean up the mess for real this time.

Well... Anonymous... and I mean that one who agreed with LL.. the one NOT either of the other two...erm... ok... this sounds like "Who's on First" : )

Actually, the FIRST anonymous... was not truly anonymous... just lazy... he did sign his name at the end ya see...

How do I know he is just lazy and I am not violating the 8th commandment against some poor schlep?

It was me : ) I was too lazy to sign in with my google blog account... so just signed my name to it...

There is a reasonable doubt that this document in genuine. For one thing, it comes from an anonymous website where names, dates and places are impossible to be verified. Secondly, it is common practice in our culture to play practical jokes that look like the real deal. It could have easily happened that around the end of the month of March a practical jokester put something together that was meant to be distributed or even posted on April 1st. The Lutheran understanding of the Eighth Commandment tells us to put the best construction on everything. Until we have more solid evidence that this thing is genuine, we should not be all bent out shape over what is in it.
