I like your sermon, Fr. Weedon. However, I do not appreciate Mr. Wilken's "diagnostic" for how to judge whehter a sermon is good or not. It is arbitrary and he is so worried about whether appropriate honor is done to God, as if God appointed him to be the one to find it in every sermon, that it almost negates our responsibility.
Thanks for the kind words on the homily. I think you might be misunderstanding, though, why Pr. Wilken offers this diagnostic; just to help the people of God receive and recognize the gift that God wishes to impart to them through preaching.
