New Lutheran Quote of the Day

For God's own identity is in fact just that - to love; to love the loveless and the unlovely; and by His own sheer love to create them anew, out of nothingness, into lovely, lovable, loving men and women and children, the very images of Him who calls into existence that things that do not exist. By the same, token, however, our own individual identities can be kept and maintained from day to day only as God keeps His, only by loving and serving in love. -- Richard Jungkuntz, *The Gospel of Baptism* p. 99
