...for Lauren and Dean (aka the Vicar of Overland). Here's a pic of the house and of the new "lady" of the house - note the tutu. She takes after her mother...what can I say?
My fourth year of seminary, I lived in the house next door to that one. Lauren & Dean's house was occupied by Rance & Leslie Settle. They're now in Rochester, MN where Rance is the associate pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Our Redeemer is a great congregation. Pr. Rodney Wise is a very kind man who understands suffering...and therefore understands mercy. I pray Dean's vicarage will be a blessed year!
Great Caesar's Ghost, I grew up in Rochester MN! In fact, I think my best friend got married there. That was back when I went to Lutheran churches about as often and for the same reasons as I go to RC churches now -- someone I know got married or died. The bigger deal was, my friend was RC too, she was the Lutheran. They are still married and still there, after 40 some years.
Little did I know that I'd turn into a Page 15 Or Get Off My Lawn Lutheran back then!
Ah...memories! Good to know the porch we built in front is still standing. A BUS hit the front of that house when we were living in it. Took out the entire front porch - there were Grateful Dead fliers all over the lawn as a result...but that's another story! :)
Their family will be so blessed to serve at Our Redeemer - Rodney Wise is a wonderful man! Thanks for sharing!

Very good to hear, Fr. Matthew!
