Walther's quote is kind of an 'ouch'. I wonder if I pray enough over my sermons, even though I know what a horrible word 'enough' is and what it can do to a person's spirit. I also wonder if my sermons are formulaic- text, application of law and gospel.
Heart-felt prayer over my sermons? I pray that my prayer is.
Heart-felt prayer? Could it be as short and simple as this: O Lord, open Thou my lips and my mouth shall declare Thy praise. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; Make haste to help me, O Lord. Glory be... Lord have mery. Christ have mercy. Lord, have mercy!

Thanks for something to ponder.
