...with no fieldworker assigned to St. Paul's. We were so blessed last year when returning student and now Pr. Samuel Powell, managed to get transferred to this parish for fieldwork, but as of right now, we have no students assigned at all. Such a pity, for the parish loves having them here so very much (as do I).
We miss them here, too.

What's the process for getting a fieldworker? Does a church have to "sign up" or make a request, or are they just assigned?
ReplyDeleteDavid Bentlage
We make application for them each year to the seminary.
ReplyDeleteSince a church has to apply for them, I know at least one reason why St. James didn't have a field worker assigned this year. We're not always the best with paperwork. :-( Is there a form you could point me to, or do you just send a letter to Dr. Utech?

I don't have the form, but if you contact his office, I'm sure they'll gladly send you one.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could do fieldwork at St. Paul's...although the good people of Bear Creek, WI probably wouldn't' want their pastor driving down to Hamel...especially on Sundays....
ReplyDeleteSad. Yet ANOTHER reason to be deliberate with one's gift dollars.

Whoever would have the privilege of doing field work at St. Paul's would experience blessing upon blessing. He would grow in wisdom and understanding.
ReplyDeleteBest of all - he would learn the marvel of wondrous congregation that generously and lovingly forgives the foibles of Christ's undershepherd. Sweet indeed!
