By nature, he says, nothing is unclean but it becomes so by the spirit in which a man uses it. Therefore it becomes so to himself only, and not to all. -- St. John Chrysostom, Homily 26 on Romans.

  1. Whatever became of all creation groaning under the weight of sin. Is not St. Chrysostom denying Genesis 3:17 where God cursed the ground on account of Adam's sin?

  2. No, he's talking about FOODS. Nothing is unclean in that sense - Romans 14.
