There are different barbarians today who no longer come in long boats, plundering the land and destroying its Christian heritage.  They may come wrapped up in your newspaper.  They face you charmingly from your television screen.  They are your workmates who mock Christ or even your own family members whose cool indifference would make you ashamed of Christ.  With Columba and Aidan we do not retreat but go after these barbarians as Christ's men to make them His also.  Thus God may come and save them, bringing Christianity once again through this land. --Dr. Norman Nagel, Selected Sermons, pp. 352.
