...big storm is big bust. Yes, some sleet. Ice still covers the trees. Wind beginning to pick up. Will snow ever arrive? Certainly not the more than 12" they were calling for, I suspect. Part of me is majorly bummed; part of me is happy that I am warm and electricity has so far survived.
Addendum: Snow and winds did arrive last night. A drift of about 4 feet behind the house.
Sincerely hoping for the same here in NW PA.
ReplyDeleteNot a bust here in Jefferson City. Thankfully the ice missed us for the most part. The snow has not. We have about 12-14 inches of snow in our driveway with more coming down. We have about 5 more hours of snow forecasted.
ReplyDeleteThe blizzard has begun here in NE Illinois. 13-23" forecast before tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteOnce the wind picks up, tonite's the most likely night to wake up in a dark and powerless house . . . kind of like . . . well I digress. :)
ReplyDeleteKeep those candles close at hand. We are.

Full blast in NID. 6 inches so far and the weatherman is promising more. Expecting huge drifts. Getting 60 mph winds. Sounds like you disappointed your missing all the fun. Dreading the dig out when it's all over.
ReplyDeleteWil,
ReplyDeleteMy brother who's a pastor in Jefferson City was in San Antonio visiting our mom for a church dedication there. While his kids got a snow day in MO, he got snowed in. He took a walk on the San Antonio Riverwalk with our mom. That's the way to beat it!
Here in Princeton MN, we only got 3 inches the other day -- but we have 60 for the season, more than double the average up to this point. We went through one streak where we had only 2 days without snow for a whole month! This morning it was a wind chill of 24 below. Hoping your power doesn't go out. I remember those days when I was in Iowa and we routinely lost power and huddled up. Don't care to revisit them.
