My kids got to perform this with the composer and his wife with the SWIC (Southwest Illinois College)choir. They did the whole Gospel Mass. They loved it. The audience loved it. He lives in St Louis and teaches at UMSL http://www.stlsymphony.org/musicians/ray.htm

The "excitement" in the music didn't happen until the resurrection, and not in the descent into Hades.
They sure spent a long time on the 3rd article of the creed.
The performance was very enjoyable... outstanding vocal work...very well directed...passionate!
