My mother fell asleep just one year before yours did, in July 1993 (also a year before my wedding). In her case, it was cancer that claimed her. But we never forget our mothers, do we?
God bless all our mothers, missing from here, but at home with Jesus! My mother died 6 1/2 years ago of ALS. When the doctor told her she would die within the month, she told my brother that when he heard she was gone, he was to stand and say "hallelujah!" When I called him to say she was gone, that's exactly what he did. I didn't know the story behind that till the funeral. I had requested the Hallelujah Chorus for the postlude. (Couldn't think of anything better for a Christian funeral.)

ReplyDeleteNo, dear Deacon, we do not! May your mother rest in peace also!
ReplyDeleteMay her memory be eternal, father!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christopher!
