The three sermons on the Dormition by St. John of Damascus can be accessed at : http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/basis/johndamascus-komesis.asp
It's interesting how St. John uses this occasion to teach not only about the importance of the incarnation but about Chalcedonian theology, 2 wills, a complete trip through the Old Testament. At one point he even throws in "Let demons take to flight, and the thrice miserable Nestorians perish as the Egyptians of old"! I know Lutherans way well disagree with some of the things St. John says, but nonetheless its a great lesson in Christology.
