Another Year Done

Doing the happy dance! Sunday afternoons and evenings just came free for several months. Tonight I finished up the last Public School Catechism class until September 9th. This afternoon I finished up the last Adult Catechism class until the same date. So... I'm ready for some PINOCHLE. But it will have to wait until after Palm Sunday (all the confirmation parties) and Easter (when we come home and simply collapse!).

    Pastor Weedon,

Oh to play some Pinochle!!!! Reminds me of the good old days in Bergholz (Niagara Falls), NY playing Euchre!!! As well having a pale ale or a stout!!!!!

Enjoy your time as you prepare for Palm Sunday and the BUSY schedule you have for worship Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter, Easter Monday, Easter Tuesday and Easter Wednesday!!

Wish I could attend all of your services!!!!

    Pastor Weedon,

I was thinking that it would be nice to attend your services as well. With my wife's work schedule we have not been able to attend regularly (she works 3rd Shift at Duke University MC). I miss the feast and partaking of the Body and Blood!!!

If you are able to get away other than for your 'vacation' think about coming to the Outer Banks. We live only 3-4 hrs away in Southside VA.

    Enjoy the worship!!!

  4. Darian,

I know that road well. We used to serve in Burlington, and our family is from VA and MD, so we'd head up I-85 quite frequently. I remember the huge stretch of pine forest along the road before Petersburg. I'm assuming you're right on the edge of that, no?

    Pastor Weedon,

If you remember the 'big' lake, Lake Gaston, from my house I can see I-85 during the winter. We live on the West Side of the bridge about a mile or two up the channel.

We call it God's country. We escape from Durham where my wife works at Duke on 3rd Shift!!!

It really is a great place that is radically changing. Until last year when NC started their own lottery, our exit, the first in VA would have all kinds of NC people coming up and buying tickets. Matter of fact Raleigh/Durham TV stations would come up and cover it special.

I can understand and agree with your post about getting a bicycle like Father Tim. To be a parish priest in a small town, that is the life!!!
