Well, if you're GOING to have snow in March...

...surely there cannot be a better day for it than the Feast of the Annunciation.  God's little reminder that Christmas is but nine months away!

"The angel Gabriel from heaven came, with wings as drifted snow, with eyes as flame..."

    I feel sorry not at all. We had 14" of snow (officially) Wednesday. It shut everything down, even here. We are schduled to receive another 8" on Sunday. Yeah!;-(

    Having served a LCMS parish in
    central Minnesota for 5 years,
    I can say there are only two
    seasons in Minnesota, Winter
    and the 4th of July.

    Gott hilf mir seitlich if I didn't grow up in MN. At least there was still enough German then spoken there that I could absorb it so when I converted I could rant in German -- which my first Lutheran pastor suggested was the reason I grew up there, God preparing me to be Lutheran. I think he was joking, but he was from WI so it's hard to tell. WELS too so it's even harder to tell.

    Judas H, one time when I was back someone asked me if they had Winter in Nebraska.

    More than enough for me these days. As to snow in March, not being inclined to Platonic allegory, we had it here too and I find it, well, snow in March and a reminder that it can snow in March.

    you know, growing up in the DEEP South, I've come to realize that "snow on Christmas" is just really Yankee propaganda to make litte southern kids feel bad!

    The Lutheran High School of St Charles County, MO made a tour stop in Green Bay. Part of their concert repertoire included O Magnum Mysterium. How appropriate for the Feast of the Annunciation! (It was 1 of 4-5 Latin pieces sung by the choir...you don't see that very often in Lutheran High choirs!)
