Sure we should. . . would we think that the world stops just because Lent comes? Lent is the season of the Church year where we are focused upon Christ's direct and blunt struggles against Sin, death, and the Devil - this is actually quite apt for Lent.
And, as quite a few of us will be singing on Sunday, it's an apt time to remember that "He's by our side upon the plain, with His good gifts and Spirit."

It does seem kind of odd that this stuff is happening in Lent two years in a row now.
Maybe the LCMS should give up picking on Pr. Wilken and Jeff Schwarz for Lent from now on.
