Fourth Year Seminarian Samuel Powell has been assigned to St. Paul's. I'm delighted not only to have a seminarian again, but to have SUCH a seminarian (and his wife!). Deo gratias!!!
I so wish that I were closer to St. Louis or the Fort. I'm not even close to Bronxville (about 2 hours away), out here in the Eastern bush land of Long Island. It would be so cool to have a seminarian.
I truly believe that when I was a seminarian I learned far more at my field work Church than I did on Vicarage...
You mean the LCMS has placed with you a seminarian who can learn what it means and how to be a confessional? Surely there was a slip up since the LCMS hierarchy wants no more confessional Lutheran pastors.
Chris, I wonder what kind of clergy the Orthodox "hierarchy" wants when I see orthodox priests beating each other up in various holy sites around the world. But obviously, that must be yet another mystery not given to rationale understanding.
When I was in university, a distinction just recently abandoned was "philosopher" 1-4 for a college student going on to seminary, and "theologian" 1-4 for a seminary student. Did anything like this ever exist in LCMS schools?
I say one Taoist monk could clear the room of all of those Orthodox clergy.
