So I am told...

...that I must blog on this. SOME people seem to think it funny.

We had a bit of a storm last night. It blew over a portable basket-ball hoop in the parking lot beside the school. I looked out the window and saw that it had been knocked down by the wind and told the folks in the room: "Oh, look. The, um, um, well the thing you put the ball through has been knocked over!"

They all found this hysterically funny for some reason I cannot fathom. I just couldn't think of the word; that's all. It happens...

Bill,

I used to coach wrestling and I still know what a basketball hoop is...

It's always good to be able to poke fun at yourself. Thanks for the smile.

One summer during college, I worked at a golf course. Since it was my job to mow the greens, I was the first one there early in the morning before the golfers arrived. After one stormy night, I found something else portable tipped over. Yep, we had a port-a-potty at the far end of the golf course, and the wind had blown it over. I couldn't help imagining the scenario of it blowing over with someone inside, and of course landing door-side down.

Maybe "orthodoxy hunter" should correspond, call or see her grandmother more often.

I am thinking of "forgetting" a grandchild, because she has not been in touch since last summer...not even a Christmas card.

If that is not the problem, OH, maybe she remembers you from some years ago and you need to talk to her about those years.
I have a friend from many years back. We remind each other that we both were younger once.
Yesterday is more of a problem for her because she is "warehoused" as she terms it, and every day is the same.

God grant that I die before I get that far!

[Cindy: It used to happen on Halloween, if I should believe my older relatives' tales.] :)

I find that happens to me now and then too.

I think "Anonymous" should mind his/her own business. My grandmother is 82 years old and has dementia. She also recently suffered a head injury due to falling all the way down her basement stairs.

I would have responded sooner, but I was AT MY GRANDMOTHER'S house.

Please don't talk about what you don't know about.

I can relate to the original post. I once asked why pitchers never shoot free throws in hockey :)
