Mercury said it was 6 when I got out of bed this morning... temperature in the parsonage kitchen was 61. I think we need to start baking something in there and get that oven heating things up.
30 below and making ice cream? There's an irony there I haven't quite fathomed.
(Speaking as one who enjoys ice cream any month of the year ... but January is a bit warmer in North Carolina than in South Dakota, even if you are "south" and we are "north" ... :)
It's been hovering around 9 in the mornings here... and for whatever reason, our heating system just isn't keeping up. Our across the street neighbors with the same floor plan are doing just fine. Since the house is less than 2 years old, we put in a warranty service request. I do not want my 2 month old daughter waking up to 51 degrees in the house again!

Minus 17 here. We're installing a second heat bulb in the henhouse today ...
Do they still lay eggs when it is so cold?
Physicists will argue that it's impossible, but they're wrong: it's -3 Kelvin here. Or it feels that way. :)
Ours do. 3 out of 4 of them laid this morning (and usually the first sign of stress is that they stop laying).
It was 30 below zero this morning in SD as I was making ice cream for the delayed family Christmas party tonight.

does this mean you made me french bread? I'll settle for cheese bread if not.
