Since every deed, word, and thought shall be revealed and brought before judgment on that final Day of Judgment, we should rightly and properly diligently guard ourselves against all those things which we would rather not have made public on that Day before the angels and all mankind. “The things we have long forgotten will on that day be exposed.” If we do not remember them, who will? Not God, “…for I will forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more.”

I think he had in view our Lord’s words in Lk 12:2,3.
I suspect that maybe our Lord is not talking about the Day of Judgment in Luke. Gerhard is. As my friends in Odessa say, "Those are two big differences."
