Many think that once a person has been converted, he is finished with the difficult work of repentance and he can then rest... However, this is an extremely dangerous deception. It is precisely at the point of conversion that the true fight begins in him. When Christ says, ‘Strive to enter through the narrow gate,’ He is referring to the entire progress of the Christian life until death.—C. F. W. Walther, God Grant It!, p. 263.

“The things we have long forgotten will on that day be exposed.” If we do not remember them, who will? Not God, “…for I will forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more.”
Peace and Joy!

I think he had in view our Lord’s words in Lk 12:2,3.
I suspect that maybe our Lord is not talking about the Day of Judgment in Luke. Gerhard is. As my friends in Odessa say, "Those are two big differences."
