May our gracious God grant rest to the soul of his servant, Pr. Winters, and peace and consolation to his wife, children and the members of his congregation. I can't help but think of the words of Luther's great hymn:
In the very midst of life
Snares of death surround us;
Who shall help us in the strife
Lest the foe confound us?
Thou only, Lord, Thou only!
...
Lord, preserve and keep us
In the peace that faith can give.
Have mercy, O Lord!

And to think that some of his last words reportedly were to offer help to this troubled person.....a terrible occurrence indeed.
He is with the Lord, the dear man - but oh, his family and his flock.. how they must be hurting. So sad.
One of my friends, a former Baptist missionary, wrote this morning to tell me this news. Thank you for your prayers, Pastor Weedon. Lord have mercy.
