Between statements like this, and my reading of Luther's statement regarding the "happy exchange", I am really seeing how the righteousness of Christ becomes ours, not as an arbitrary move by the Father, but a swallowing up of sin and death in Christ for those who believe he actually did swallow up sin and death.
"Die Vergebung frisst die Suende hinweg" I love this quote....Forgiveness gobbles sin up completely like a hungry dog consumes a piece of meat, there's nothing left when the dog is done.
