Well, you might just be Past Elder if your high school geometry teacher was Sister Hilarion, about the best teacher I ever had.
Handed you back your proofs if any necessary step was left out, even if you got the right conclusion, to make sure you knew how to think. Didn't allow any calculators in the classroom -- such as calculators were back then -- all calculations done longhand and turned in, to make sure you knew how to think.
Can't remember the last time I used geometry, but the how to think logically stuff has bailed me out time and again, in later school or life itself.
The beautifully haunting setting first appearing in LBW and then LW and now in LSB.
Hey, Mark, don't feel badly about Sound of Music. At the same card game we also had selections from Fiddler floating around..."You must have heard wrong, grandma! There's no tailor..."
We have been blessed with our teenagers coming faithfully to Wednesday evening prayer this summer and learning that beautiful setting of the "Phos" as well. The Son of God truly reveals the Trinity to us whom we worship in in the catholic faith (Athanasian Creed).
You just might be at a pastor's house when your four year old (as does ours) goes from person to person at the table saying, "take and eat," and holding up cups and plates as at the elevation. And from time to time climbing up on anything that gets her up off the floor a bit and giving us a sermon. She really is paying attention, even though it seems like all her mother does is chase her around and ask her to be quiet during church.

I love it! The children of a former pastor of ours, when they were teenagers, sometimes sang "This is the feast" in the shower!

I don't sing This Is The Feast anywhere.
Did they do it in Greek? Now, that would be something!
It was just a hint that they were tired and they wanted the guests out of the house! :)
Oh, wait, that would be "Guide us, waking, O Lord, and guard us sleeping..."
Well, it is from Vespers, at least in the East!
What would amaze me more than Greek is if they got up then and went to light the sanctuary lamp or something and made dad hold services.
I sing the HTM Brookline setting of it in English as a lullaby for the baby.
Was Phos Hilaron in Tone 2 (traditional Greek) or Tone 5 (modern Greek/Arabic)?
Mine break into a rousing rendition of "So long, farewell, auf wiedersahen, goodnight" from the Sound of Music...
I'm a bad pastor...

Oh, and also Popular from Wicked!

There is no more hauntingly beautiful setting of any hymn than a Byzantine setting. You Lutheran churches don't know what you're missing!
