Here in the words which the Holy Spirit imparts and hallows to be His own words, the mutual conversation and consolation of brothers and sisters in Christ takes place as part of the Gospel's counsel and aid against sin.
Here the words of divine witness and admonition are spoken from human lips for the edifying of God's building and for the purging of God's vineyard.
In short, the parish derives its significance from the fact that it is an arena in which God establishes contact with man. It is a symbol of the divine primacy and the divine initiative in our transformation from sinners to saints.
