June 12

will be the last day for ye olde blog. It's served its purpose and the age of blogs has long since passed, but I've had a soft spot for it and wanted it to limp along until it reached the ripe old age of ten. So I'l update it maybe a few times between now and then, but on June 12 it will go permanently dormant. FB has triumphed.

June 12th is my birthday, so couldn't you make the ending of your blog June 11th or the 13th so my birthday isn't associated with such a sad day in American Lutheranism?

I cannot say FB has triumphed . . .

I'll miss my daily stop.

Pastor Weedon,

It was wonderful meeting you in January 2010 at the Model Theological Conference. You have contributed so much to the blogosphere and to everyone you have met, even to me in those five days.

If you do stop blogging, I can only ask that you don't delete the blog. It is a wonderful reference.

I'm saddened to see the blog coming to an end :(. Thank you for all the great content you've provided us with. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me out with something before you go though. It's regarding the TDP. Do you sing or simply recite the invitatories, antiphons, and responsories found on O-61 through O-74? I ask because I would like to sing them, but I'm not sure how since music is not provided. Again, I would really appreciate your help, and I thank you for your great service.

I have followed your blog since late 2005; although I left Missouri in 2008, I have still appreciated your theological depths and practical thoughts, as well as your incredible storytelling abilities.

June 12 (coincidentally my birthday as well) will indeed be a sad day.

Thank you for your many insightful and interesting posts over the years. By "dormant" I hope you mean that you will leave the blog up, even if you do not consider adding to it. I still refer to many of your older posts from time to time, and I would hate to see it disappear completely.

Worldpremier12:
You may sing/chant the invitatory to the same music in Matins (O-2 or LSB 220); the antiphon uses the tone you select for the additional psalm(s); and the Responsory may be sung to the same music as the Responsory in Matins and Vespers O-3 and O-12).

It's my bleeding birthday too! I may not post comments on blogs anymore, and use FB for daily stuff and chit chat, but blogs still retain value for longer posts such as pastors' sermons. So,I hope you keep doing that. Then post a link on FB!

No, say it isn't so...I don't do FB and never plan to. I will miss your blog. I came to know you through Issues back in 2008 I think. And through the witness of Issues & the faithful Pastors my husband & I are now members in a wonderful LCMS congregation that supports Issues etc. Many blessings to you Pastor Weedon.
