Patristic Quote for the Day

In addition to all these things, who does not know that by the very fact that He was among men and thus fully united with our flesh, Christ most clearly and evidently showed forth the kindness and love for mankind of Him who sent Him, and thus rendered the glory which was the Father’s due. St. Nicholas Cabasilas, *The Life in Christ*

This quote reminds me of something my wife and I read yesterday in John 12:27, 28...

[Jesus said,] “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

Thanks for your blog, Pastor Weedon.

Thanks, Eric, and I enjoyed visiting your blog as well! Good thoughts on Baptism.

About the quote from Cabasilas, it is a beautiful thought indeed that our Lord glorifies the Father by showing Him to be supremely good and loving to mankind in the gift of the cross.
