Worth Noting

Rasburry's Res - always worthy of being read - goes beyond the infamous signs from Satan that the LCMS parish at Jefferson Hills funds to the COFFEE HOUSE that we fund - ostensively to "do evangelism" but the Post Reporter is happy to note that there was nothing so offensive as the Gospel in sight. Good gravy! The fitting word from Sacred Scripture is from 1 Corinthians 11:

"What? Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the Church of God and humiliate those who have nothing?"

On this whole coffee thing: don't you think that there is the possibility of Lutherans in Kenya having coffee plantations, or at least working on some? Would it not have been prudent to see how we could even reach out to our brethren, if such a need for getting into the coffee business was perceived?

Yet nothing I have seen talks about the product's origins, other than the same as you'd see at Starbucks.

Just a thought I've had.

Actually, Pr. Heinz, this is not at all associated with LCMS World Relief's coffee thingy, if that's what you were referring to. It's a separate "mission."

Is there more than one coffee house LCMS church in St. Louis? A girlfriend of mine who now lives in North St. Louis told me the other night that she and her husband were attending an LCMS coffee house church.

When she first moved there I told her about your church but I guess it was too far to drive.

Just the *phrase* "coffee house church" sounds ridiculous. When I was a Baptist we did a monthly coffee house sort of thing, but never had the audacity to think of it as "church."
