That is wonderful. I should not have run around so much in preparation for our outdoor service. I should have come and heard it in person.

Beautiful work by John Leavitt, beautifully presented. At Bethany we do the SATB choral version with soprano soloist. It is a congregational favorite.

I accompanied this song once at an Irish funeral. (Sniffle!) The choir was most of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus. They don't usually do funerals but in that case, the departed was a member of the group.

Robbie, we also most recently sang this song at a funeral. The departed was our day school's preschool teacher who died this past year after a 10-year battle with cancer. She and her husband were both in our adult choir. She specifically requested this song and this arrangement (as well as that the solo be sung by an opera singer in our congregation). It was all I could do to keep playing through the tears. :-(

Rest in peace, Louise.
