from Hymn of the Day

for St. Mary, Mother of our Lord:

O Higher than the Cherubim,
More glorious than the Seraphim,
Lead their praises, alleluia!
Thou, Bearer of the Eternal Word,
Most gracious, magnify the Lord!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia!

I'm happy to see that the LSB restored this hymn after it was scapped by the LW. St. Ephraim is always golden stuff, for eastern and western Christians alike.

Happy feast to you, Fr. Weedon.

This is from the Megalynarion at the Divine Liturgy of St Chrysostom, no?

It is meet indeed to bless thee, the Theotokos, the ever-blessed and most pure and Mother of our God. The more honorable than the Cherubim, and incomparably more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption didst bear God the Word: thee, verily the Theotokos, we magnify.

(Which is a Byzantine way of fulfilling Mary's self-prophecy that all generations shall call her blessed for the great wonders that God worked in her.)
