Just a Reminder...

...the following weekday Divine Services will be offered this month at St. Paul's:

Friday, June 11, St. Barnabas, Apostle - 6 p.m. - commemorating the companion of St. Paul in his first missionary journey:  Barnabas means "Son of encouragement"

Thursday, June 24, Nativity of St. John the Baptist - 6 p.m. - commemorating the birth of the Forerunner to Sts. Elizabeth and Zacharias as the Angel Gabriel promised: "He will be great before the Lord!"

Tuesday, June 29, Sts. Peter and Paul, Apostles - 6 p.m. - commemorating the martyrdom of both apostles in the city of Rome, Peter by crucifixion and Paul by beheading:  "The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church."

Join us for these wonderful festivals if you can!  Each is observed with a spoken Divine Service, lasting approximately 40-45 minutes.

Why oh why are you the exception? Why can't all the Lutheran churches actually do this??? Arghh...these NW suburbs of Chicago are a confessional wasteland. :(

You are so very generous in providing the means of grace to your parishioners, giving them the nourishment, forgiveness, and wisdom they need to face life in a fallen world. Oh, to have the body and blood of Christ as often as are blessed the folk in Hamel, Illinois....
