Likewise. Appointed in some churches to be read at burials. As well they should!

Appointed in the Orthodox Churches to be read on certain saints' commemorations at Vespers.

Words like these are what gives God’s people joy as they wake in the morning, when they praise God at the noon hour, and when they commit themselves to His care in the evening. How sad that they are reserved for special occasions.

In the evening, just before our Lord began His suffering of mind-bending pain and unimaginable temptation, He said to His disciples: John 16: 22 “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.”

Peace and Joy!
