Rejoining the 21st Century

A while ago we (as in Cindi and I) decided to be done with satellite TV. The kids (especially the youngest) were not amused. But we caved this week. Got hooked back up again. Best of all? The package we got has EWTN. I find that it is a GREAT channel to watch. It always reminds me why I am NOT a papist, even while it helps me appreciate much that is good in the Roman communion.

Ha! I discovered EWTN about a month before the previous Pope died. It was good until it became all Pope all the time. The novelty quickly wore off.

Forgot to add. You just gotta get TiVo. It will change the way you watch tv - seriously.

When I am travelling I watch EWTN at night in the hotel.
I go to sleep listening to the rosary.
Ah ha, I may have stumbled onto the cause of my semi-crypto-romanism!

I am with Deb on this. Our college aged son introduced us to TiVO. I didn't think at first we needed it because we watch so little TV but what it does is make available to us those shows we want to invest time in watching at a time when we choose to watch them. And if that meant listening to the Rosary at the time one is drifting off to sleep...well, with TiVO such would be possible. (Although my personal preference would be an Akathist! ;)
