Old Lutheran Quote of the Day
Then he [St. Paul] suddenly turns and instructs us to be in debt in regard to love. And this debt is both constant and unceasing. Every other debt becomes smaller by repayment until finallly it is retired. Not so the debt of love we have toward our neighbor. It is our holy duty to strive after it, and while we may rid ourselves of every other debt, we can never discharge the debt of love. And while every other debt can obligate us only until death, we take the debt of love with us to the grave, into eternity, and into heaven. There, faith changes into beholding, and hope is transformed into having. Love, however, remains as long as there is a kingdom of God, that is, eternally. - C. F. W. Walther, *God Grant It* pp. 174,5

Legalist! A preacher of works, not the Gospel. Too bad he never read "The Proper Distinction Between Law and Gospel." Oh, wait...never mind.
