Patristic Quote of the Day

It is fitting that she who confessed that she was a dog is transformed into a human being; and it is right for those who were unwilling to be sons to be changed into dogs. It is fitting that she, who is praised for her insight and humility in having cast herself down under the table, is adopted, exalted, and honored at the table as a child. It is right that she, who understood and acknowledged that by her own merits she was barely deserving of scraps, now feasts on the full loaf of bread. -- St. Peter Chrysologus, Sermon 100 par. 4 (On the Syrophoenician Woman)
