The festival of Sts. Peter and Paul will be observed this coming Wednesday at St. Paul's at 6 p.m. This is one of the oldest festivals in the Church Year. Join us for the joyous day when we remember St. Peter's crucifixion and St. Paul's beheading - giving thanks to the Blessed Trinity for these glorious witnesses to our Savior's victory over death and the grave.

I do so love it when our calendars sync up.
Often the way with the oldest festivals...
Well, there is the thing that Julian 29 June falls on Gregorian 12 July.
But then hell, we got TWO calendars in our beloved synod now and THEY don't always sync up.
But ain't nobody winding up an Apostles' Fast in either of them. Or at least I hope not.
I wish I could move closer to you. Five LCMS parishes near me and not a one have service except the two on Sunday morning. I haven't been to church in weeks because I work 12 hour nights, all weekends. It sometimes seems that the church doesn't much care about those of us who have jobs with nontraditional hours. You, pastor, are an exception. I would love to have a Wed. Service to look forward to this week!
