4.  The paschal candle is lighted for all baptisms.  It remains lighted for the entire service or office.  The paschal candle is ordinarily placed next to the font for all baptisms.  [LSB Altar Book, p. 366]

In our parish the paschal candle is
lit from Easter Sunday to Ascension
Sunday. We have a special Baptismal
candle that is lit before every
Baptism and given to the baptized
person after the worship service to
take home and light every year on
his/her baptismal birthday.

would it be appropriate to light it for the feast of Christ's baptism even if no baptisms are scheduled?
