Day's Wrap

Matins; breakfast; opening devotions at school and then NT Catechesis on Acts 9 for 7-8 and then for 5-6; daycare/preschool chapel (practicing Christmas music!); sent a corrected bulletin for Divine Service tomorrow to Joanie; lunch with Cindi; run in the sun (5 miles to Hamel and back, with a little extra to fill out the five miles); sermon for tomorrow's Winkel; did some practice with the boys' basketball team - running only - they wiped me out!; dinner; communion to Jo (before her surgery tomorrow); practice with the Collinsville Chorale - great selection of Christmas music and Andy's a hoot and half.

Seriously? Do you write this stuff to make the rest of us feel like complete slackers?

All that and a five mile run?
Ditto what Rev Beisel said!

You ran with the boys basketball team? Were you supervising? If so... Who let you be in charge of a basketball team! :)

Nah, I write it because I was thinking back about what a fun day it had been - so filled with different things and each its own joy.

And heck NO, I was not supervising. We talked in Catechism class about "daily bread" and the odd inclusion of "self-discipline" as part of the good gifts that we ask God to give us every day. That led to exercise and the kids were groaning about the workout that Roger (their coach) puts them through for basket ball - and I know Roger. I've been to his bootcamp. He smiles as he tortures you. So they invited me to join them at 3:30 for the torture today and I took them up on it. For a little bit. I just wanted to try this running the gym thing - and yes, it IS torture. After we were done that I left. Roger said: "But we're not done yet!" And I said: "Oh, yes we are." It was fun to run with the kids, but I was totally wiped.

Ok good... Roger is a much better coach! I do believe they laughed when you volunteered. Correct? Good to show then the work out though! My kiddos aren't too fond of running... I only join in once in awhile though.

Oh... And last time I worked out with Roger I'm fairly certain the smile was not from enjoyment of torturing us... Rather it was mocking bek and my lack of coordination!
